I am getting the following message in the input and output data areas when editing a controller.
error [The required information was not present in the incoming request.]
Changing the Input/Output data does not correct the problem. Next time the controller is opened the same error appears.
The problem does not seem to be project specific since I get the same message in various projects that I have looked at. We are currently using Webmaker 4.
Any insight you could offer to the possible cause of this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chuck

RE: Error when editing a controller
I'm sorry you are getting this problem.
Are you seeing this when opening up the Controller Rules from the Application Map diagram? If so, can you check that the documents correctly appear when editing the Bindings for a page on Page Design?
Have you tried to open up the rules from the Dashboard logs? If so does the document from the logs display correctly in this case?
Using the options provided in the Rules to change the displayed document is only a temporary setting. This does not change which document will be shown next time you open up the rules, so I wouldn't expect this to resolve this problem.
Can you confirm which web browser you are using? Can you try a different browser to see if you get the same behaviour?
Hopefully we can get this resolved for you, but just out of interest, do you have any plans to upgrade versions? WebMaker 4 is getting a bit old now, and the newer versions provide a better studio environment.
Regards,
Gerard
RE: Error when editing a controller
Yes, I am getting this error when opening the Controller Rules from the Application Map diagram. When I open a page and try to look at the bindings I get the following message.
There was a problem loading the document.
<message xmlns="http://www.hyfinity.com/xstore">xstore not listed in index file</message>
My browser is Firefox ESR 38.6.0. I have the same issue with Chrome and IE.
We have plans to move to Webmaker 7 soon.
Thanks for your help.
RE: Error when editing a controller
Thanks for the additional information.
Can you check whether you have the 4.0.0.0001 patch installed? You can check using the 'Version Details' link from the first page (workspace list) of the studio.
The behaviour you are seeing looks like a known corruption issue in Firefox that was fixed by this patch.
If you have hit this problem though, you will need to manually correct the metadata that has been corrupted. You can find details on how to do this in the following thread:
http://www.hyfinity.com/node/249
Hopefully this will be the issue, and you can now get the problem resolved.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Gerard
RE: Error when editing a controller
I will try to fix the metadata for the project in question, but where do I find the actual patch?

If you are a BizFlow customer, then WebMaker patches are delivered as part of the standard BizFlow updates. I believe this patch was included in the 12.0.0.0002.00 BizFlow update.
Otherwise (if you are not using BizFlow WebMaker) then you should be prompted to install the patch when you start up the studio.
