Validating date format

Is there any built in functionality to validate that a date is entered in the correct format.

On a field set as a Date type the pattern expression is grayed out.

The Date Format validation will be based on the format defined for the "Display" format in the "Value Conversions" section of Field Details.
This is defaulted to "MM/dd/yyyy" US format.
The format can be altered, see the "i" hint icon.

There are further considerations if undertaking multi-lingual forms development.

This is not the case though.

The display format is dd/MM/yyyy but the date is being accepted as dd/MM/yy - or so I believe.

Doubting myself now.....

Is your Data format different to the Display format? What does your Data format look like?
