making controls read-only

Hello,
Our group uses FormMaker, and we have set several radio buttons to be read-only (within Field Details --> Advanced Options).

However, the radio buttons continue to be editable, and their values are saved to the database.
Ideally, we would like the radio buttons to display current values from the database, but be uneditable - that is, read only.
