Accessibility Features

WebMaker enables the generation of web applications that comply with the core public sector and global industry standards including: WCAG, US Section 508, UK eGIF and eGMS.

WebMaker enables the assembly of web applications with accessibility features such as:

  • Dynamic detection of browser support for JavaScript with XHTML output adjusted accordingly

  • Full semantic XHTML using appropriate syntax e.g. Association of form elements with labels, un-ordered lists, etc. This dramatically improves disability tool effectiveness.

  • Comprehensive accessibility options - Access Keys, tab key sequencing, alternative text for all images, etc

  • Allow use of various user browsing methods - Mouse, keyboard, and full speech browser support

  • Progressive Enhancement approach - Uses web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript in a layered fashion that allows everyone to access the basic content and functionality of a web page, using any browser or Internet connection, while also providing those with better bandwidth, more advanced browser software or more experience an enhanced version of the page.

  • Enable use of standard testing tools and frameworks

Unlike other approaches, WebMaker enables an XHTML web application layered with rich ajax usability features, so enabling cross Browser applications that are not reliant on client 'plug-in' technologies (java, flash, activeX, etc.).

Here at Hyfinity, we're firmly committed to making WebMaker automatically generate web applications that meet as many Accessibility standards as possible. To that end, we have used XHTML 1.0 and extensive CSS to control all aspects of presentation.
